Do you believe in magic?

So my exciting news of the week (month? year?) Is that I got an internship at Walt Disney World in Florida! I will be moving there in Jan, and will be there in April. It works out really well because I would be off of school anyway. So instead of just going home and finding some "ho-hum" job at Target or something, I get to work at DISNEYWORLD! How jealous of me are you right now? I know... I know.

This picture below is of my roommate who told me about the program (on the left). She went two years ago and loved it. She is the was there 2 years ago and says that it was a lot of work, but it was a great experience.

I was really nervous that I wouldn't get in because I heard that they turn away about 1/2 of the applicants. Luckily I think I got an "in" because I am a BYU student. Disney and BYU have a very special relationship apparently.

For example:

-Other colleges students have to be there until May. But because I am a BYU student, my job is only until April, a week before my semester starts again.

- They have specific housing just for BYU students-Which is a big blessing to me. Hopefully I won't need to worry about roommates making bad choices.

- They really like BYU students because we already follow the "Disney look" (No crazy colored hair, no more than one earring, no visible tattoos etc..), and we aren't about to call in "sick" on Monday from our weekend hangover.

My official area of employment is "Quick Service Food and Beverage".

This could be anything from
1) Selling turkey legs, Pineapple Sticks, Churro's etc in the outside vendors.

2)Selling Ice cream and candy on main street or something

3) Working at the "fast food" resteraunts at Disney world

I am really excited for the opportunity. I am praying my friend Kelsey also gets in so that I will have a buddy to move across the country with me!

11 things I like about going to a Church School:

1. Devotional Tuesdays. (Everything shuts down)

2. The use of scripture references and stories in every day classes, which make the classes surprisingly more interesting.

3. Not needing to worry that you roommate is doing drugs, or having sex in your apartment.

4. Nooooooo MUSTACHES! Thank goodness....

5. Sammy's.

6. Nice people everywhere. Opening doors, not trying to rip every person off, baking and serving. It's insane.

7. EVERYTHING (well... almost) is within walking distance.

8. Hardly anyone is from Utah. Don't get me wrong, obviously I am not Anti- Utah. HELLOOOOO I grew up in Utah. But is so fun to have every single roommate from a different state/ country. (Canada, don't get overly excited)

9. Free ensign magazines in every apartment/ dorm.

10. Good, Clean, fun. Scuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum.

11. Indian Summer. (At least so far.... crossing my fingers for sunday.)

College Life

Hey Everyone!!! It's been a while since I have done an update on life, and since I have officially entered into a new chapter of my life, I figure its about time.

First of all:

Yes! We have two Courtney's at this house! Luckily, so far it hasn't been confusing at all. Hopefully it stays that way.

Now for the GRAND TOUR:

First of all, I am not doing the normal "freshman in the dorm" thing. The dorms filled up before I had even decided that I wanted to go to BYU-I, so I am living off campus, about 1 1/2 blocks away at Brookside Village. The best part about Brookside is that there are 6 girl in each apartment, but each girl has their own room!!! (Which is UNHEARD of at college!)

Learning to Live

Some times I worry I am not taking advantage of the beautiful life that has been given to me.

Hear I am, born with a perfect body, with no deformities or health problems- so how could I ever complain about anything that is "going wrong" in my life.

Seriously, Am I so spoiled that I dare EVER complain?

This morning, the first thing that happened was I got a text message from a cousin letting me know that a cousin my age had died.

Carol Joy has always been a really big hero to me. For most of her life Carol Joy has been a wheel chair. Despite Carol Joy's hardships in life, she always tried her hardest to come to family reunion's and cousin retreats with a great attitude. She was always so positive and brave.

One of the best things I learned this last year has been to "Be here now". This is something I have to teach and re-teach myself every single day.

I sometimes take advantage of live.

I forget that each day is a gift.

I need to be more grateful.

It's a brand new day. The sun is shining- its a brand new day!

A Very Potter Musical

This so so funny. Its an original musical spoof about Harry Potter. It's a full length play (Which is VERY impressive if you ask me) so it takes some time to watch, but so worth your time! You will be laughing through the whole thing!

Favorite Buys of the week

This last week I got paid for an extended babysitting job and got my Retreat for Girls check in the mail on the same day. So after a VERY long time of not having any spending money, I went a little crazy with excitement. (Don't worry, not TOO crazy. Just more crazy than I have been able to go for a looooong time) Hopefully I have gotten in out of my system, because guess who is going to college with minimal money??? Men That I love, Yet will probably never see in the flesh.

I honestly have a boring blog. I do. I wish I was more talented at writting and being witty enough to have people rush to read my blog posts every day, but HECK, I can't even write on my blog weekly. In fact, I have a HUGE, LONG blog post waiting in my "Save drafts" about Retreat for girls, that I am just waiting to get the motivation to finish. It will come one day.

But I thought I would take a break from my normal routine of just talking about what's going on in my life. I am not usually the "Swooning fan girl" type, but I had this sudden urge to publish a list of all the celebrity men I tend to love. Don't ask me why, because I don't have a good answer.

Movie that I loved him most:He's just not that into in which his character is quite adorable.

Movies of his I want to see: He has a new movie with Drew Barrymore called "Going the Distance" (Which I wish desperately wasn't rated R).

Apparently he is also in Alvin and the Chipmunks the squeakuel. (No desire... sorry bud)

Movies that I loved him most: Penelope and Becoming Jane (Which could quite possibly be my two favorite movies of all time)

I think he is one of the most under appreciated actors but I bet he gets really big when he is in Batman 3. Let it be known NOW that I thought he was talented before everyone else.

I can't think of anymore right now. This whole blog post is very uncharacteristic of me. I don't usually get googly eyed over celebrities. But there ya have it.
